


Harlow Leisurezone is a sports and leisure center in Harlow that has been serving the community for 55 years. Operated by the Harlow & District Sports Trust, a registered charity, it has played a vital role in local sports development and even functioned as a training facility for elite athletes ahead of the London 2012 Olympics. In 2024 Harlow Leisurezone adopted solar energy with a circa 700kWp system, anticipated to save approximately 2,909 tonnes of COâ‚‚ over its lifespan. In the first year alone, the installation is projected to reduce emissions by 124 tonnes. The analysis demonstrated a sub-3-year payback and Internal rate of return (IRR) of 35%, demonstrating the long-term environmental and financial benefits of solar investment.
