Sefton Council

Meadows Leisure Centre in Maghull is a modern, multi-use facility operated by Sefton Council. It includes a main pool, learner pool, gym,
fitness studios, sauna and steam rooms, and is integrated with a public library. Open daily, the centre serves the whole community, including families, schools, and accessibility users.

Energy Gain UK expanded the existing 50KWp solar PV system at Meadows Leisure Centre in Maghull with an additional 80 KWp, significantly enhancing the original installation for Sefton Council.

The expanded system is designed to enhance the centre’s energy efficiency by generating clean, renewable electricity on site—minimising reliance on the national grid and significantly cutting utility costs.

The installation forms part of Sefton Council’s broader sustainability strategy, supporting its commitment to cutting carbon emissions and operating more environmentally responsible public facilities. By harnessing solar power, the centre now benefits from long-term energy savings, a reduced carbon footprint, and increased energy resilience.
